2012 Fantasy Football Sleepers to Consider for Week 6

Every week you need to be aware of the sleeper starters in case of underperforming players, injuries or bye weeks.

Here are the players to consider in no particular order:

Vick Ballard (RB, IND)

Ballard takes over for Donald Brown, who will be out the next three weeks. Ballard is not as great an option in PPR leagues as Mewelde Moore will handle passing downs. If you are looking for a sleeper for Week 6, then look toward Ballard.

Alex Green (RB, GB)

Green is a big-time gamble as James Starks is going to get in the action as well. Green Bay is going up against Houston and its fairly stout defense. Green is a pure gamble play with upside.

Kevin Kolb (QB, ARZ)

Kolb did not have a great week from a fantasy perspective last week, but goes up against Buffalo in Week 6. I expect him to bounce back against a team that can be thrown on. Look for Kolb to bounce back, and he should only be started in two-QB leagues or leagues that allow a QB in the flex position.

James Jones (WR, GB)

Jones is going to find the end zone again in Week 6, which should be enough to give him the start. As long as Greg Jennings is out of action, Jones is a solid fill-in.

Rueban Randle (WR, NYG)

Randle is going to take some work because you have to watch and see if Hakeem Nicks will be playing in Week 6. Only start Randle if Nicks is out. Keep in mind that the Giants play at 4 pm, so this is a high-risk option.

Kyle Rudolph (TE, MIN)

Jerome Simpson could be out another week leading to Rudolph being the second receiving option in Minnesota. This week Rudolph should find the end zone and make a solid starter for Week 6.

Brent Celek (TE, PHI)

Philly takes on Detroit this week, and this should be a high-flying game. If you are in a PPR league, Celek is a wonderful TE starter for this week.

William Powell (RB, ARZ)

Another risky RB starter, but Powell is going to get the first crack against Buffalo and if can start hot he will be starting the entire game. He has a high risk/reward factor, so please be aware of this fact when starting him this week.
